Reflux, Gone?....Don't Want to Speak to Soon

As many of you know, Lily is on medication for reflux.

We were very grateful that they caught it in the NICU and discharged her on Prilosec. Sometime in October after Lily was already at her maximum dosage of Prilosec (4 ml's/day), she started to have projectile vomiting and was put on an additional medication called Axid. Since going on Axid her vomiting had subsided a lot, and her pediatrician has continued to up the dose anytime we saw signs that it wasn't working, so currently she is taking 1.7 ml's, twice per day, in additon to the Prilosec.

Chris and I were just talking and neither of us have witnessed a vomit or spit-up in over a week...so either the medication is working really well or she has maybe grown out of her reflux, either way, it is great. We were getting so used to living in vomit everywhere, are clothes, furniture, her toys...we hardly even noticed that she had stopped! Best Blogger Tips

8 Months Old

I know I keep saying this - but where has the time gone?

Her current achievements include sitting (we were so excited), a lot of screaming, babbling and communicating. She has started on finger foods and enjoys toast, waffles, bananas and avacado. She is still sleeping through the night, but instead of sleeping 11-12 hours, in the last week she has become an early riser, getting up at 6:00 a.m., I am not sure if it is because she can finally bust out of her miracle blanket and we are slowly trying to transition her to a sleep sack, or if it is because she just wants to get started on her day? This past Thursday she started her first day of in-home daycare, where she will be going 3-4 times per month. I was really worried and wanted to cry (anytime I send her anywhere and it's not me taking care of her it is extremely hard), but it went really good, better than I could have ever expected.

Lily loves watching Boots and playing on the chair that she got for Christmas from Grandma. Yesterday I took her sledding in the driveway, she seemed to really like it. On Tuesday we start Parent/Child swim, we are looking forward to it - check back for pictures.

She has her 9 month well-check coming up in February and also her follow-up with the NICU on her development. It was supposed to be in January (6 months from her July due date), but they were booked, so it will be in February. I am looking forward to this appointment to see where she is at, and am hoping for no bad news, but have mentally prepared myself that there may be some. I will keep you posted!

We also want to say congratulations to Tiff and Joe who welcomed beautiful little Ashlyn Marie into the world on January 16th! Lily is very excited about a new playmate and very jealous about all of Ashlyn's hair (well, I don't know if Lily is, but I am!) Congratulations to you and welcome to the most exciting, exhausting, funny, emotional, surprising, challenging, rewarding, scary, greatest, fullfilling, overwhelming and best part of your life yet - being parents! Don't be afraid to ask for help, call us if you need us!

Happy 2009

We celebrated our first New Year's last night as a family of three, it was a little different than what we have done in the past...we went out to dinner, took some pics of Lily and then were in bed by 10:00 p.m., but we didn't mind :)

My New Year's Resolution is to finally take off this baby weight. I had gained 33 pounds during my short pregnancy, and we all know that not much of that was Lily, and have lost 20, but need to take off the last 13 pounds. So, I am getting back to eating better and I am going to at least try and walk on the treadmill after Lily goes to bed, it is so hard to find any time to workout, but I am going to try.

We are excited about what 2009 will bring!

Lily is really excited about all the new playmates she will have this year:

Baby Aiello due January - it's a girl
Baby Damon due March - it's a boy
Baby Stack due April - it's a boy
Baby Paul due April - surprise!
Baby Lopez due June - it's a boy

Wishing you all happy and healthy pregnancies!

I guess it's the year of the baby around here!
