Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary Babe!

Four years ago on the beaches of Jamaica, I would have never imagined what was in store for us, what a beautiful little girl we would make, how much she would change both of us in the best possible way, what a great daddy you would be or how much more I would love you each day! I love you! Can't wait for dinner tonight...

17 Months And All is Well!

Lily and Her Great Big Pumpkin
Lily was supposed to have a 15 month well-check appointment, but I messed up and never scheduled it (Worst.Mom.Ever), so she had a 17 month appointment instead.
Here's a Flower for You Mama

Fall 2009
Weight: 21 pounds 2 ounces - 10th percentile for 17 months 19th percentile for 15 months adjusted(clearly there is a difference between our scale and the Pedi's)
Height: 31 inches - 37th percentile for 17 months and 63rd percentile for 15 months adjusted
Head: Still big
Lily's Pedi is extremely pleased with her development, especially how many words she says and that she can now put two words together - like "oh boy" "night-night" "good-girl" "oh-no". When she asked if Lily could say 10-20 words, Chris and I were like, "More like 30-40?"

She is well over 50 words or more. Talking...my daughter excels in talking...I wonder where she gets that from? And finally a development we don't have to worry about!

This is what Lily likes to say:
Dada - she now says Daadee

When I ask "Can you say Christmas?"...she says "no" and shakes her head no - I guess that word is too big for her :)

Her pedi is getting a little concerned about her reflux and that we haven't been able to go off medications yet or even reduce them. So she is sending us to see a Pediatric Gastroenterologist, we have an appointment in December just to make sure there isn't anything more serious going on.

Getting Into Mischief
Her pedi is getting a little concerned about her reflux and that we haven't been able to go off medications yet or even reduce them. So she is sending us to see a Pediatric Gastro we have an appointment in December just to make sure there isn't anything more serious going on.

She is also waiting for Lily's outtie belly button to go in and said she would give it until Lily was 2, or maybe she said 3. I was confused by this, I certainly don't have an outtie (my belly button was swallowed by my stomach early in life), but I thought they existed. I started to imagine odd things about them trying to make her outtie and innie. When I asked her what she meant by that, she said they would just check it to make sure that it wasn't a hernia that was caught. Lily did have the biggest hernia ever in her belly button when she was a baby, but they would just be double checking to be safe, that nothing is wrong.

We started Parent/Child Swim again about 3 weeks ago...Umm....I don't know what happened between last fall and this one, but OMG it's going so bad! Lily cries the entire 35 minutes, which makes me sweat (does anyone else out there sweat when their baby is crying in public and you can't get them to stop? maybe it's just me), thank goodness I'm in a pool, since she doesn't want to participate and isn't really moving, by the end of class she is shaking from being so cold. It's either too cold or maybe she doesn't like it? I don't know but it is torture for the entire family. So, we are Parent/Child swim drop-outs! At least for the next 2 weeks and then after we see how she does with the pools in Florida, maybe we will give it another whirl.

Lily had her first dentist appointment this month and is now up to 7 teeth.

Lily Lu is also really into wearing hats again - yay! Even puts them on herself now. And has started to match up shoes and neatly put them together (OCD is from Dad).

Reading to her babies with a hat

Other than a lot of talking she also continues to try and hop and run and now spins to music and can "get low" to songs...songs a 17 month old probably shouldn't be listening to, which could make for another Worst.Mom.Ever blog entry....
Finally, I just want to say that we can't wait for our trip to Florida and are so excited to see our relatives. Val, I wish you a calm and relaxing last couple of weeks before the big day - can't wait to see you!
These pics were taken at Swan's Pumpkin Farm this last weekend - it was cold!

Harvest Fest

We went to Harvest Fest on September 26th with Billie, Steve, Mason, Katie and Nolan. It was a great night and we had lots of fun, ate some good food including apple pie and I am still picking straw out of my hair from a Hay Fight that was initiated by Nolan and Mason.

Another interaction with a Goat

Oh Boy...Lily might take after her father and be into Heavy Metal....

Yes, that's Steve in the lower left corner of the pic

Hay was EVERYWHERE...
I mean, I was finding it in odd places the next morning

Lily wasn't really that into it

Nolan and Mason loved it!

I even got in on the action
