Black Friday 2009 + Thanksgiving Day 2

We are nuts...let me rephrase...I am nuts. I love Black Friday, I think because I worked retail all those years, I feel I must "give-back". When I first met Chris he thought I was nuts and he would sleep while I went out shopping.

In 2007 he decided to come with me, that year Mayfair was doing a promotion where they gave out gift bags and if you were lucky enough, it would include a gift card - Chris got one, and used it to purchase a coat from Banana Republic that he had been eyeing up - he's been hooked on Black Friday ever since. Last year we took Lily and had tons of fun and found lots of deals and so we did it again this year. For the record we did get a $15 gift card for parking in the structure and each got $10 gift cards for spending $100 at the mall.

about 6:30 a.m. in Mayfair

Santa had us get something really nice at this store for this lucky little girl

...and we got an amazing Black Friday deal on it

Check back after Christmas to see what it was...

Off to Billie & Steve's for Thanksgiving Day 2
(daddy had to work a 16 hour shift this night, so he wasn't along, but we caught up with him later)

a quick snooze before dinner - shopping is exhausting

My mom made this for to fit Lily out of a kid's apron she had

Happy Thanksgiving

By: Lily (age 6 months)
my mom and sister did this with her one day while they were babysitting last year

There are so many things to be thankful for this year and every year....we are so thankful for each other, the roof over our heads, the food at our table, our loving family, our supportive friends, our jobs, our cats, our senses of humor (they always come in handy during tough times), our health, my bumpie friends and we are still thankful everyday to the nurses and doctors at West Allis Memorial Hospital who took care of me and Lily last year.

And most importantly our amazing little girl who fills our hearts with love, laughter, joy, fun, wonder, strength, amazement, excitement and pride and shows us each and every day how truly blessed we are! Thank you Lily!

Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving! Best Blogger Tips

Country Christmas - Country Springs Waterpark

Wednesday, November 25th

It was extremely wet and cold and is much prettier when the snow is on the ground, but we took a ride through Country Springs Country Christmas, Lily loved it (I have no pics of the lights), but here is a link, it is basically tons of Christmas lights set-up with little workshops, barns, etc. with displays in them of elfs and santa, you drive thru and stay in your car. At the end there is a building set-up with Christmas trees and an amazing train display, as well as a sleigh for a photo-op and you can purchase hot cocoa and cookies.

Getting ready to go

Lily is the Paparazzi - obsessed with trying to take pics
She comes from a long line of shutterbugs, stemming from her Great Grandma Rainbow who always has a camera in hand and is ready to take or pose for a picture for the "just one for the good times"

Pretending to drive

Mason LOVED the trains

18 Months

Also known as One-and-a-Half and tons of fun!!

If I thought the first year went fast...I guess that might be the slowest of the fast years.

Weight: 21 pounds 15 ounces
Height: 32 inches
Shoes: Size 5
Clothes: Still 12 months (and for those that are wondering a size for Christmas, I think it will still be 12 months or 12-18 months depending, I tried 18 months on her and it's still big)

What's New:
  • Still talking lots
  • we've started "exploring" potty training
  • currently being treated for a sinus infection with amoxicillian
  • Lily got 2 more teeth while we were in Florida - that makes 10
  • we are only using the pacifier when Lily is in the crib/sleeping
  • we are Parent/Child swim dropouts!
Florida post and pics coming soon!
