Lydia 2 Months

Lydia was 2 months on January 1st

Weight: 12 pounds 12 ounces (74th%)
Height: 23 inches (62nd%)
Head: 15.5 inches (77th%) - my kids heads are all huge :)

Being held
Talking to you face to face
Warm baths
Sleeping at night (up until 2 days ago)

Not a big fan of:
Being put down even for 5 minutes
Tummy Time
Taking naps

she hates tummy time
I can't believe she is already 2 months old. I don't know what happens to time once you have kids, except that it moves at warp speed.

The biggest update I have is that Lydia is sleeping through the night!!! Woohoo! She is sleeping about 10-11 hours at night now without waking up. Somewhere around the 5-6 week mark she started doing some longer stretches and about 2 weeks ago she starting going about 10 hours. She is still sleeping in her Rock 'N Play, swaddled. I usually nurse her continuously from about 7:30-9:30/10:00 and then burp her and swaddle her and put her down. I put the Sleep Sheep on and she is out. As, long as she is sleeping I have no intentions on moving her into her crib just yet. I usually put her down about 10:00 p.m. and she is getting up about 8:30-9:00 a.m. That was all true until 2 days ago, and now she has been waking in the night again and eating. Hoping it's not going to become an every day thing and that it's just a growth spurt (my fingers are crossed). For the last couple of weeks when she was sleeping 10-11 hours at night, I felt awesome - sleep is good!

Nursing is also going so much better. We got through thrush and the hump of the first 6 weeks and things are going really well. She isn't nursing as long anymore and is going longer stretches inbetween as well. I have been pumping in the morning when I get up (before she does) and before I go to bed and am getting about 15 extra ounces each day that I have been freezing to make a "stash" for when I go back to work {which is coming up really soon and is making me really sad} and like I did with Lily & Liam, I will pump at work too and at least try to nurse through the first year.

She is also "talking" more and is starting to try to reach for things and grab them (probably not intentionally, but it still makes me proud). She is tracking us when we walk and responds to our voices with smiles and laughs. She loves "talking" face to face with us and giggling about it. Also she loves when you whistle to her.

I love when she smiles.

Bam! Take that!

Her fussiness is getting a little better...unless you put her down and then there are screams of rage. What can I say, she likes to be cuddled, and the only reason that's hard is because we have other kids, otherwise I don't think Chris or I mind just sitting and snuggling with her. I had an epiphany the other day about how I kept saying she was fussy, but everytime we go to a social gathering she does really well, and I think it is because someone can always be holding her. And that made me think that maybe she isn't really that fussy. Because the truth is, we constantly held Lily and Liam a lot, because we could. This time around, we just can't. When Chris is at work at night and I have to make dinner, do homework, give baths, brush teeth, read stories, get pajamas on and put Lily and Liam to bed, it is just impossible to hold her that entire time and when she is put down, well, that's when the screaming and crying begin. So, maybe she isn't that fussy after all?

Her eyelashes are coming in and they curl at the top, so cute! Not sure what color her eyes will be yet? Chris and I have green eyes (don't let Chris' blue contacts fool you), Lily's are bluish/green and Liam's are greenish/brown and one of his eyes is almost completely brown, which makes for two different color eyes.

We survived the fast pace of December, giving and receiving gifts and spending lots of time with family and Lydia was right there with us for everything.

These are my favorite pictures from Lydia's First Christmas:

6 weeks is boring

Outtakes, Lily & Liam always want to get in on the action:

This little lady is growing so fast and doing so well, we are so proud of our girl!

Happy 2 months Liddy Lu!
